Crossroads High School sophomore’s Bella Porter and Sol Was are busy producing their second annual TEENS UNITED LIVE concert, which takes place at the Roxy Theatre on Sunday May 19th, 2013 at 1pm.
Last year, saddened to hear about the LA Unified Budget cuts in the arts, they formed TEENS UNITED LIVE to raise money for less fortunate musicians. They, along with many talented musician friends from Crossroads and other private LA schools, put on a concert at the Roxy to benefit the Foshay Learning Center’s Jazz program. Foshay’s big band and jazz orchestra feeds more students to USC’s Trojan marching band than any other school in the country. The concert was a big success and the money raised by TEENS UNITED LIVE helped this incredible program continue.

This year, TEENS UNITED LIVE will benefit the Harmony Project. Harmony Project is a 501c3 charity that teaches music to at-risk inner city youth in underserved areas of Los Angeles. They promote positive youth development through year-round music lessons and weekend participation in orchestras and jazz ensembles. The students learn to play an instrument, stay in school and out of gangs and as a result, the whole community, as well as the student, is elevated.

TEENS UNITED LIVE will be joined by friends from Harvard-Westlake, Windward, Colburn and other LA schools to put on an amazing concert. Expect fantastic music, stellar musical guests and a fun event! Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter to receive the most current updates.
